A Volkswagen campervan with 5 seatbelts accommodates the whole family. Bonaparte is VW Multivan, which means it’s a compromise between 5 seat vehicle and a campervan. The layout inside of it is much different compared to VW California, however, it works just as well. Let’s have a look at what you can find inside.

Location

Like all our campervans, Bonaparte’s home is in Sandefjord town, 15 minutes from Torp Airport (TRF) and 1,5 hours from Oslo. Those three locations are where we personally deliver the campervans to you. Both Sandefjord and Oslo are great starting points to embark on an unforgettable campervan road trip in Norway.

Layout

This compact campervan accommodates up to five people! In the front, you will find two single seats and a seat with three seat belts in the back. It works as a foldable bed for three as well. The second bed for two is found under the pop-up roof, which can also be secured to the ceiling while open, which gives you enough space to stand in the car. The pop-up roof has side “walls” made out of tent fabric with insect nets in its windows. Sleeping bags follow in the campervan, together with pillows, sheets and bedding. To have nice and cosy nights on your trip in whatever weather, the campervan comes with a parking heater that can run for a whole night.

Kitchen

The indoor kitchen includes a portable gas stove, a sink with running water (cold) and 12 l fresh and grey water tanks. The top loading 30 l fridge found in the trunk will keep your beer cold. The cupboard is filled with all the necessary dishes and utensils you might need for your camping cooking. There is a collapsible indoor table, but it only fits two people.

Electricity

All electric devices such as a fridge, lights, USB outlets and a diesel heater are powered by a leisure battery that charges while you drive and by a solar panel. Charge your devices by plugging them into USB ports or you can add a voltage converter to your campervan rental and charge at 220 V while driving.

Driving

For the ultimate comfort during the driving part of your journey, Bonaparte has comfy armrests, storage compartments in the cab, radio and just as in all of our campervans a phone holder. It is a manual transmission vehicle which runs on diesel. Its 80-litre tank can drive you up to 1000 km away!

Anyone looking to travel Norway by car or camper, I would strongly recommend you do it with Benzini Campers. They have a great, reliable fleet of vehicles, the VW vans are a great size for adventuring around. Not to big on two lane roads but big enough for a family of 4. The owners are great people; very nice and understanding, easy to communicate with, answering all of our questions, keeping our mind at ease. Loved out time in Bonaparte!!!

In February 2022 we traveled across top spots of the South Norway in 6 days with Vlado’s camper. All conditions were on high service level. When the temperature fell below -15 the van still heated like sauna. Vlado’s reaction on any questions was immediate, what ensured if anything happens, we’re in good hands. Highly recommended on any occasion!

Renting a campervan is definitely the best way to experience Norway, and we highly recommend Benzini Campers! The staff is very friendly and helpful, and communication was great. They are always quick to respond and eager to find solutions for their customers. We rented Ganesh, but the car ended up being unavailable because it was stuck in a garage for maintenance. Nevertheless, they found us a replacement car (VW California) which was really comfortable and allowed us to maintain our trip as intended. We lived 10 amazing days in our camper, drove across one of the most beautiful countries in the world and slept in remote and peaceful places. We just want to go back! 🙂
